Subaru Wants Sales to Do More Than Set Records

Brand donating $250 for every car sold.

Subaru's Tom Doll outlines the company's new charitable efforts at the MAMA annual breakfast during the Chicago Auto Show.

Subaru has ambitious plans to sell more vehicles and the effort is based on a deft marketing campaign built around the word love and an emphasis on charitable giving.

During the past decade, as Subaru has become the seventh best-selling brand in the U.S., the Japanese automaker has given away more than $115 million dollars to community-oriented, not-for-profit CoSubaru’s generosity.

Tom Doll, Subaru president and chief operating officer, told the annual MAMA or Midwest Automotive Media Association’s annual breakfast at the Chicago Auto Show, that Subaru, which now celebrating 50 years of selling vehicles in the U.S. plans to continue its charitable giving. Subaru Looking to Impress with New Impreza

New model utilizes new architecture.

The 2017 Subaru Impreza is built on a new small car architecture developed the maker's parent company, Fuji Heavy Industries.

After eight consecutive years of sales growth, Subaru is planning to launch an all-wheel-drive replacement for the Impreza, the company’s popular, five-door compact sedan.

Thomas Doll,  president of Subaru of America Inc., told a noisy party the evening prior to the opening of the New York International Auto Show that the 2017 model is built on an all-new global architecture developed by Fuji Heavy Industries.

The wheelbase on the new sedan, which will make its official debut during the New York International Auto Show, sits on a wheel –base that is an inch-longer than the wheel-base of the current Impreza. (more…)
