Maven Making Move to Toronto

Service expands into new country.

GM's car-sharing service, Maven, continues to grow. The on-demand access to vehicles is now in Canada's largest city, Toronto.

General Motors car-sharing service, Maven, which offers customers access to personalized, on-demand mobility services, has opened for business in Toronto, Canada’s largest city.

So far, GM has rolled out Maven in more than a dozen cities in North America, including New York and Los Angeles.

General Motors Expands Maven Gig to San Francisco

GM is expanding its Maven Gig, which is aimed at freelancers, offerings in San Francisco.

General Motors’ newest mobility service, Maven Gig, is spreading its wings on the West Coast by opening operations to San Francisco.

Created specifically to provide vehicles for independent, freelance driving jobs or “gigs,” such as GrubHub, Instacart, Roadie and ridesharing services, GM launched Maven Gig in San Diego last month as part of growing portfolio of car sharing and mobility services.

“Freelancers in the sharing economy want flexibility and Maven Gig is a seamless way to maximize opportunities,” said Rachel Bhattacharya, director of Commercial Mobility Strategy for Maven. “If the driver has a lull on one service they can easily flip to another and keep hustling,” she said. GM's new car-sharing service, Maven, is expanding its operations in New York City by adding 80 vehicles.

With the big investments in Cruise and Lyft getting the lion’s share of attention, General Motors’ homegrown mobility start-up, Maven, sometimes get overlooked.

However, Maven is one of the fastest growing mobility brands in North America with operations in 17 different cities and plans an expansion in New York City that will make 80 vehicles available for car sharing in the heart of Manhattan.

A year and a half after launching as a residential-oriented service in New York City, Maven will continue to expand into the boroughs and throughout the city to provide cars around the corner from where New Yorkers live, work and play, all without a membership fee, GM officials said.  (more…)

GM is expanding its partnership with Maven to include Maven Gig, a program that allows "giggers" to utilize the Maven fleet.

Looks like General Motors has a new gig — a Maven Gig.

The company plans to expand its partnership with Maven, the ride-sharing service, to benefit from the growing freelance marketplace, where jobs are often described as “gigging.”

GM's new car-sharing service, Maven, is expanding its operations to three new locations: Chicago, Boston and Washington D.C.

Maven, General Motors’ personal mobility brand, is expanding, adding Chicago, Boston and Washington D.C. to the original operations in New York City and Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Overall, members of the fledgling service have already driven more than 1 million miles.
