Ford Issues Recalls for More Than 38K Vehicles

Actions cover sport-utilities and pickups.

The Expedition is part of the recall of more than 37,000 large SUVs.

Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 38,000 SUVs and pickups as part of four individual recalls covering problems involving seats, airbags, fuel system components and transmissions.

The largest is for 2018 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigators. The action covers large utes that have second row center bench seats. In that instance, the seats could be missing reinforcement brackets in the seat track assembly.

If not properly secured, the rear seat may come loose. As of this moment, the company is unaware of any incidents or injuries. There are approximately 37,801 vehicles in North America, with 34,946 in the United States and federalized territories, 1,900 in Canada and 955 in Mexico.

Additionally, 271 2019 Lincoln Nautilus SUVs with driver-side airbag modules that may have improperly molded plastic covers that could separate during deployment and cause injury. Affected vehicles include 2019 Lincoln Nautilus vehicles without adaptive front steering built at Oakville Assembly Plant, Oct. 11-19, 2018.

The 2019 Lincoln Nautilus is being recalled for improperly molded plastic airbag covers.

The company is recalling 160 2018 Ford Explorers with 2.3-liter or 3.5-liter GTDI engines. The fuel pressure sensors may have been assembled wrong, which could result in a gas leak increasing the chance of fire. Dealers will replace the vehicle’s fuel line assembly at no cost to customers. Affected vehicles include 2018 Ford Explorer vehicles built at Chicago Assembly Plant, July 29-31, 2018.

Four 2019 Ford Super Duty pickups with transmission casings that may be missing material around the casting where the park pawl engages the transmission. Ford said the defect could cause a vehicle to move while in park.

Ford dealers will repair the faulty vehicles free of charge.
